Apple OS X SlipStream Web Accelerator setup:

  1. First, in order to use the SlipStream Web Accelerator, you will need to change your dialup number. Use this number finder specific for SlipStream use only. Follow the instructions on that page in regards to changing your number.

  2. Now download to your desktop the installer for the SlipStream Web Accelerator. Then double click on the disk image on the desktop, and then double click the "SlipStream Web Accelerator.pkg" to begin the installation. The installer will guide you through the complete setup process.

  3. SlipStream should start up as the installation finishes. Cleck the box for "Login required for SlipStream Service". Put in your regular Got.net username and password. Click Save and Continue to close the window.

  4. The image quality setting changes the quality of images that appear in your SlipStream Web Accelerator. Within the program, select the Images tab. Use the slider bar to adjust the image quality setting. Then click Apply to save the setting. The higher the quality you select, the longer it will take the image to load. For slower Internet connections, it is recommended that you lower your image quality. This slider can be adjusted anytime while browsing.

  5. The SlipStream Web Accelerator can be started from the Applications folder on the hard drive of the computer, and this should be done before you open up your internet connection and browse the web. You may find it useful to drag the SlipStream Web Accelerator from the Applications folder to your dock so that you can easily start it up before opening up your browser.
